Exactly! There are knives not only for the kitchen, but for many areas in life – including the printing industry. Printing press knives can have many different functions:
The main cutting knife, that cuts the "endless" paper web into individual printing products when it enters the folder.
The longitudinal perforating knife, which turns the newspaper tabloid product into a "secret file": At the head of the printing product paper bars are left over and must be ripped open before reading.
The cut-off knife for cutting the paper web of the paper roll coming to its end when changing the roll or to avoid paper jams/wrap-ups in the printing unit or the folder and resulting damage to the machine.
